I bring deep expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, and flood hazard analysis, along with extensive experience in risk methodology for dam and levee safety. My work bridges complex hydrologic modeling and innovative risk analysis tools, supporting efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in risk-informed decision-making. As both a technical leader and collaborator, I am committed to fostering innovation, mentoring others, and advancing resilient infrastructure through multidisciplinary solutions.

Experience Highlights

  • Over the course of my career, I have led and supported high-priority flood hazard and risk assessments for critical infrastructure across a wide range of hydrologic and climatic settings, including large river basins and systems with complex reservoir operations. My experience spans technical leadership, review, and advisory roles on challenging flood risk problems. Through HydroSmith, I bring that experience to bear on clients' own projects and analyses.

  • I have deep experience developing advanced software tools that support risk analysis and flood hazard evaluation for critical infrastructure, including tools for statistical analysis, hydrologic simulation, and system-level risk assessment. Through HydroSmith, I design and develop original, client-specific software that integrates complex data and methods to support risk-informed decision-making, delivering practical, high-performance solutions tailored to real-world challenges.

  • I am passionate about advancing technical skills within the engineering and risk analysis communities. Through in-depth training materials, hands-on instruction, and active engagement at conferences and workshops, I help others build confidence in applying statistical and computational techniques to real-world problems.
